Wellness, Meditation and Yoga

My Story

I’m a UK-based yoga and meditation teacher, currently studying to become a certified wellness coach.

My journey into wellness began in 2013. As a young twenty-something scrabbling to make it in New York City I had a terrible diet, didn’t exercise, and experienced chronic stress and anxiety around work as a poorly paid junior publishing professional.

I knew I needed to make a change. A yoga studio in Queens was offering $5 classes, and although I thought of myself as a book nerd who was hopeless with any physical activity, I decided to give it a go. It turned out to probably be the best $5 I’ve ever spent.

Through yoga and meditation I soon found myself exploring and learning more about my body and mind than I had in my entire life up until that point. I was finally tuning in to imbalances in my physical body I had never noticed before, and I was paying attention to the chaotic chatter of my own mind. I also found myself surrounded by an open and welcoming community, and the support of social connection that is often so absent in fast-paced modern life.

My experiences were so transformative that only a year later, in 2014, I moved away from my career in publishing to complete my 200 hours of Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training.

Since then, two babies and the stresses of two international moves have definitely shaped my relationship with wellness. Pregnancy and birth, in particular, brought unexpected mental and physical challenges and I founded a postpartum support group in New York to help women share their experiences from conception through to toddlerhood.

In the wellness journeys of my clients, and in my own, I’ve seen the transformational power of exercise, meditation, and healthy eating, particularly when supported by social connection—because it’s really difficult to make lasting change alone. I would love to help you realise your own wellness goals—whether they be related to meditation, yoga, or wider health and wellness—and to be an ally on your journey towards the best version of yourself.
